About Giant Buddha: Tian Tan Buddha or Big Buddha is a bronze statue located on Lantau Island (known for its unspoilt countryside, virgin hills and lush green valleys). it was built in 1993 and measures 34 metres (110 ft). It has become one of the most popular place to visit in Hong Kong surroundings. Visitors must climp the 268 steps or a large stairway to reach it.

Take the ferry between Hong Kong and Lantau Island then board a coach to beautiful Cheung Sha Beach and visit Tai O fishing village, where the local fishermen's homes are built on stilts. Go up a winding mountain road to Ngong Ping Plateau, where the Giant Buddha sits majestically, close to the Po Lin (Precious Lotus) Monastery. Enjoy a traditional Buddhist vegetarian meal at the monastery, followed by an optional visit to the culturally themed Ngong Ping Village. Your tour concludes with the Ngong Ping 360 cable-car ride down the mountain berfore returning to Kowloon or Hong Kong Island by coach.
